From Frustration to Innovation

It was Christmas 2022. I was getting ready for a party, wrestling with my blowout, when it hit me. A once in a lifetime inspiration so vivid it felt like a download from the universe. What if there was an attachment on the actual barrel of my hair dryer that held sections?

The next morning, I ran into a beauty supply store like a woman on a mission. I grabbed whatever I could find. Clips, brushes, silicone tools, and even dental floss. That night, I tied a silicone scalp massager to my hair dryer barrel with floss. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked. That scrappy prototype was the spark.

Fueled by possibility, I sketched out the concept, literally on the back of a receipt, and teamed up with a designer to bring it to life. The road was anything but smooth. Our first 3D-printed sample snapped instantly. There were moments of doubt, but never defeat. I kept going.

Then, life threw me a curveball: I accepted a job in Germany and moved my family overseas, right in the middle of prototyping. It was a whirlwind of relocation, new routines, and late-night calls across time zones. But I stayed committed. I kept advancing the product concept, one step at a time.

By late 2023, I partnered with a product development manufacturer who shared my vision. Together, we refined every curve, every angle, every detail, until DrySpike was born.

DrySpike officially launched in the U.S.A in May 2025!

Today, DrySpike is more than a product. It’s a symbol of grit, creativity, and the magic that happens when you refuse to give up. From dental floss to a sleek, game-changing tool, this journey has been wild, and we’re just getting started.
